Creating opportunities to cook, connect and support our community:
Swan Hill Neighbourhood House is developing a community kitchen to create more opportunities for people to come together around food, build practical skills and strengthen community connections.
The kitchen will support activities that bring people together, encourage learning and help respond to local needs. It will also provide a space for community-led initiatives and collaboration with local organisations.
We're excited about the opportunities this project can create and will share further information as the kitchen develops.
Have an idea for how the community kitchen could be used or want to know more? Contact our friendly team on (03) 5032 1549 or email reception@shnh.org.au. We'd love to hear from you!
What will the kitchen offer?
The Community Kitchen is being developed to create a welcoming space where people and organisations can come together around food.
The project aims to provide opportunities for:
-
Cooking and food skills - sharing knowledge and building confidence in sharingmeals.
-
Community connection - bringing people together to learn, participate and build relationships.
-
Community-led activities - supporting ideas and initiatives that respond to local needs.
-
Partnerships and collaboration - working with local organisations to explore ways the kitchen can benefit the wider community.
We are committed to developing a space that is inclusive, practical and responsive to the needs of the community.
Help shape our Community Kitchen
A successful community kitchen grows from the needs, ideas and participation of the people it serves.
We welcome conversations with local residents, community groups and organisations interested in how the kitchen could be used to support our community.
Whether you have an idea for an activity, would like to explore a partnership or want to learn more about the project, we'd love to hear from you.
Supporting our Community Kitchen
Developing our Community Kitchen is an important investment in the future of our community. We are grateful for the funding and support that is helping bring this project to life.
Community support will continue to play an important role in helping us develop a practical, welcoming space that can respond to local needs.
